[2003] Metaphorical Music [Nujabes] ''FLAC''

Metaphorical Music

This albums is just chock full of gems. I'm really surprised I'm the first reviewer given the popularity of Nujabes and the songs on this album. The album contains a good mix of ambient instrumentals and rapped-over tracks featuring frequent Nujabes-collaborators Shing02, Substantial, and Cyne. Each song has a distinct melody and rhythm yet, they all provide the brilliant blissful ambiance that Nujabes has proven so adept at providing.
For someone has never heard Nujabes before, this is a good place to start if you can get your hands on a CD. The sounds Nujabes makes cannot be found anywhere else, and this is exacerbated by his untimely passing. I vividly remember the first time I heard "Blessing It" while browsing Myspace(yes, it was quite a while ago), and it literally transformed me from a hater of hip-hop, who was disillusioned by the quality of mainstream radio garbage, to a true lover.

Genre: Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Jazz Rap, Cool Jazz, Instrumental Hip-Hop
