[2009] Sparkler [Ringo Deathstarr] ''FLAC''

Sparkler

Shoegaze has been a term used to describe bands like Ringo Deathstarr since the early 1990's so it's definitely not a "new term." If you like My Bloody Valentine circa Isn't Anything or Jesus & Mary Chain those are gonna be the most major touchstones for Ringo Deathstarr. If you like this, you're gonna like both Colour Trip and Mauve (their more recent albums), if you liked those records and you don't have this then get it cause it's got front to back great songs on it too.

[1972] 666 [Aphrodite's Child] ''FLAC''

666

Vangelis was in an incredible state of inspiration when creating the songs for 666 on words by Costas Ferris. Some of the weirdest experiments in rock are complemented by some potential haunting hit singles, notably "Break", and "Aegean Sea", the latter being without doubt one of the finest examples of symphonic rock to date. It never got the attention it deserves because Aphrodite's Child had already broken up by the time this album was finished, singer Demis Roussos had already started his easy-listening solo career and Vangelis was already working on his first film scores. Still, this double album is one of the highest artistic peaks ever achieved in rock and if you're open to such a thing, this is a definitie must-have in your collection.

[2006] Okami [Masami Ueda and Hiroshi Yamaguchi] ''FLAC''

Okami

As if the game Okami itself weren't epic enough, the music that accompanies it is majestic!
Each disc is packed-full with fabulous instrumental tracks that inspire and wow me every time I listen to them. Some tracks send shivers down my body because they are so well-done. [Reset], both the instrumental and vocal versions, is an amazing addition to the CD collection - beautiful in every aspect.
I definitely recommend this collection of music to those who are fans of Okami, Japanese music/orchestra, etc. It's worth every penny!

[1991] Just For A Day [Slowdive] ''FLAC''

Just For A Day

My Bloody Valentine's brilliant "Loveless" is easily the most famous and acclaimed shoegazer record, but this sparkling debut from Slowdive, is, in many ways, every bit as moving and beautiful. It is definitely one of my 10-15 favorite records of all-time. Written entirely by guitarist/singer Neil Halstead, "Just for a Day" stays true to its title, capturing alien ephemera within its breezy, hazy musical web. Guitars wash in and out like waves, drums and bass creep slowly along, and both Halstead and Rachel Goswell intone their beautifully insightful lyrics over the wondrously droning sea of sound. Besides its aesthetic beauty, "Just for a Day" possesses a moving, understated emotional punch, ranging from the drearily melancholic to the overflowingly redemptive. One of my friends listened to this album incessantly in the wake of his father's death, and he says it struck a chord so deep that he can no longer listen to it without being driven to tears. Powerful, resonant, and fleeting, "Just for a Day" is an astonishing listen.

[2002] Different [Jori Hulkkonen] ''FLAC''

Different

This is the kind of moody electronic music that suits a long, fast drive down an empty freeway. I've always admired jori hulkkonen's work but this album contains a few tracks that are absolutely brilliant, namely #6 and #7. There are a few additional tracks with a vocalist that are ... unusual, but still pretty catchy. Somewhere between underworld and carl craig.

Genre : Electronic, Ambient, ChillOut, Lounge, ChillHouse.
Quality : FLAC

[2000] Hawaii Blue [Christian Morgenstern] ''FLAC''

Hawaii Blue

This album is a really good trip into electronic music.
Most of the tracks are electronic music, with a chiptune-like approach remembering video game tracks from the 16-bit period, especially Amiga and Sega Megadrive sounds.
Some of the tracks are more on the techno dancefloor side, but they are great too.
This release is really a must have imho, if you don't have it go get it before it disappear !

Genre: Electronic, Techno, 16-bit.

[2004] So Far... [Monodeluxe] ''FLAC''

So Far...

Monodeluxe is fun, chilled out and groovy all at the same time. This guy knows his old-school funk and can downtempo it with the best of them.
Out of all my chill vibe discs, which includes bargrooves, afterdark, ambient lounge, and many others, this comes in tied as my favorite along with only a few others.. and this isn't chill while listening you don't pay attention and fall asleep.. this chill is pumping! don't hesitate to get it it.. hopefully this guy will make more..

Genre : Electronic, ChillOut, ChillHouse, Lounge.
